Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku, who plays for AS Roma, etched his name in the records of his national team today.
Lukaku scored 4 goals (a superb hat-trick) during the match against Azerbaijan on Sunday, as part of the qualifying rounds for Euro 2024.
The four goals by Lukaku all came in the first half of the game, specifically in the 17th, 26th, 30th, and 37th minutes. According to Opta statistics network, Lukaku has become the first player in history to score four goals in one half for the Belgian national team.
Lukaku now leads the list of top scorers in the European qualifiers with a total of 14 goals.
