Jana Kramer, the actress and country music star, recently opened up about the difficult choices she made to provide for her children. In a candid interview, Kramer revealed that she accepted certain acting roles that conflicted with her personal values in order to meet her child support obligations.
The 41-year-old "One Tree Hill" alum discussed her struggles on her podcast, *Whine Down with Jana Kramer*. She explained that financial pressures, particularly the need to pay child support, pushed her to take on projects she wouldn’t have otherwise chosen. Kramer, who shares daughter Jolie, 9, and son Jace, 6, with ex-husband Mike Caussin, admitted that these decisions were tough but necessary to ensure her children’s well-being.
“I’ve done jobs that I didn’t necessarily want to do because I had to pay child support,” Kramer said. “There were times where I was like, ‘This doesn’t feel aligned with my moral compass,’ but I had to do it to take care of my kids.” She didn’t specify the roles but emphasized the sacrifices she made as a single mother navigating a challenging financial situation.
Kramer also touched on her journey of balancing her career and motherhood. She noted that her priorities shifted after becoming a mom, and she’s been intentional about choosing projects that allow her to be present for her children. “I want to make sure I’m there for school drop-offs and pick-ups,” she said. “That’s what matters most to me now.”
Despite the challenges, Kramer remains focused on her music and acting career while advocating for other single parents facing similar struggles. “You do what you have to do for your kids,” she said. “It’s not always glamorous, but it’s real.”
The singer, who recently released a new single, continues to share her journey with fans, emphasizing resilience and authenticity in both her personal and professional life.
